A UV light wand may be the most effective way to disinfect your quartz and granite countertops. It’s inexpensive technology that offers peace of mind.
The uses are virtually limitless -
Ultraviolet light disinfection has been proven safe to use in clinics, hospitals, and laboratories . . . for over 60 years!
How to clean granite with UV light
Bedding, pillows, mattresses: Vacuum first. Hold UV Wand about 2 inches away from the surface waving the wand over 12" sections at a time for 20 seconds.
Bathroom items: Hold UV light near razors, combs, toothbrushes, and other personal items for approximately 10 seconds to disinfect.
Toilets and sinks: Hold light wand approximately 2 inches above surfaces and slowly move wand over each surface for 20 seconds.
Household items with frequent hand contact: telephones, keyboards, doorknobs. Again, hold wand about 2 inches away for 10 seconds.
Cooking items: Expose UV light to knives, utensils, and cutting boards for approximately 10 seconds. For odor control, try holding UV light over garbage cans for 20 seconds.
Animal bedding: same 20 second exposure instructions as human bedding
Shoes: Once a week, treat shoes to 5 minute exposures of UV light at close distance. This can kill the germs that cause shoe odor. Shoes are especially prone to bringing bacteria into the home. (UV lights made specifically for mounting and treating shoes are available).
Restore the shine to dull granite countertops by removing soap film buildup.
